Here is a summary of what was discussed
and carried out at recent meetings:
A calendar “planning session”
was held to ensure events planned for the remaining months in
2008 are scheduled without conflicts.
An in-depth financial review of
our mid-year church budget status was carried out.
Recommendations from the Mission
Study Area were presented, suggesting ways the mission groups
of ELPC can both prioritize and strengthen their mission ministries.
A congregational “feedback” session on these recommendations
will be held in early fall.
The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Campbell,
president of McCormick Theological Seminary, has accepted an
invitation to preach at ELPC on February 27, 2009.
There is no Session meeting scheduled
for August, so the next meeting will be a Joint Meeting held
with the Board of Deacons on Tues., September 9.
