Her series, Cursed by Night, focuses on the world of darkness in which African American males are unfortunately restricted and too often cursed. Do you need support with practical ways of dealing with pain, fatigue, nutrition, exercise, and other issues? If so, the ELPC Membership and Outreach Committee is offering a new Better Choices, Better Health workshop on Tuesdays, May 2–June 6, from 10:30 am–12 pm. The six-week workshop is free and open to the general public—including adults with a chronic health condition. ELPC's handbell choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 6–7 pm, in Dr. Ed Moore's office and rings periodically throughout the year at our Sanctuary worship service on Sundays at 11 am. Drawn from the ancient Christian contemplative tradition, centering prayer is presented in an updated, accessible four-step method. The Centering Prayer group aims to sit in silence for 20 minutes of prayer, and supports its members in their ongoing practice of this transforming way of being with God. Contemplative Prayer

Following our Taizé service, move to the carpeted area at the front of the Chapel, where we will sit together in silence for 20 minutes. If you have never practiced Contemplative Prayer, someone will be there to get you started. Meditation cushions and back jacks will be provided, or you can sit in the front pew.
