The labyrinth is an ancient, sacred symbol found in many religious traditions throughout the world. Today, modern pilgrims walk the labyrinth as one of many ways to pray and meditate. The winding path into the center and back out again is a metaphor for the journeys of life and faith. The Chapel Market, which provides gently worn, donated clothing to those who need it for free, is open for shopping and donating on Mondays, from 10 am–2 pm, and Thursdays, from 6–8 pm. The Market is located in the Wayfarer's Chapel on the ground floor at  ELPC, by the Whitfield Street entrance. Do you need support with practical ways of dealing with pain, fatigue, nutrition, exercise, and other issues? If so, the ELPC Membership and Outreach Committee is offering a new Better Choices, Better Health workshop on Tuesdays, May 2–June 6, from 10:30 am–12 pm. The six-week workshop is free and open to the general public—including adults with a chronic health condition. ELPC's handbell choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 6–7 pm, in Dr. Ed Moore's office and rings periodically throughout the year at our Sanctuary worship service on Sundays at 11 am. Drawn from the ancient Christian contemplative tradition, centering prayer is presented in an updated, accessible four-step method. The Centering Prayer group aims to sit in silence for 20 minutes of prayer, and supports its members in their ongoing practice of this transforming way of being with God.
