Contemplative Prayer

Following our Taizé service, move to the carpeted area at the front of the Chapel, where we will sit together in silence for 20 minutes. If you have never practiced Contemplative Prayer, someone will be there to get you started. Meditation cushions and back jacks will be provided, or you can sit in the front pew.

The Chapel Market, which provides gently worn, donated clothing to those who need it for free, is open for shopping and donating on Mondays, from 10 am–12 pm, and Thursdays, from 6–8 pm. The Market is located in the Wayfarer's Chapel on the ground floor at  ELPC, by the Whitfield Street entrance. Join us and Susan Spangler as we learn more about Mindfulness Meditation and engage in this ancient prayer form together. Both those who are new to meditation and those with meditation experience are heartily welcome. Mindfulness is the moment-to-moment awareness of our experience with an accepting, non-judgmental, kind attention. In this ongoing practice, we'll explore and deepen our experience of mindfulness. Our weekly time together will include meditation instruction, guided meditations, and practices for supporting mindfulness in everyday life.

Chancel Choir Rehearsal

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7–8:30 pm, in the Sanctuary from September through early June. Sunday morning rehearsals are at 10:00 am, in preparation for the worship service. The choir provides musical leadership at our Sanctuary worship service on Sundays at 11 am. No audition is required, just the desire to learn and have fun as we prepare to lead worship. Do you need support with practical ways of dealing with pain, fatigue, nutrition, exercise, and other issues? If so, the ELPC Membership and Outreach Committee is offering a new Better Choices, Better Health workshop on Tuesdays, May 2–June 6, from 10:30 am–12 pm. The six-week workshop is free and open to the general public—including adults with a chronic health condition.
