Christian Education (CE) offers classes and events for all ages—from infants to adults. It is is the life-long process of learning and living in relationship to God, our neighbors, and ourselves. All CE classes meet for Church School hour on Sunday mornings from 9:45–10:45 am, from early September through early June, unless otherwise noted. Drawn from the ancient Christian contemplative tradition, centering prayer is presented in an updated, accessible four-step method. The Centering Prayer group aims to sit in silence for 20 minutes of prayer, and supports its members in their ongoing practice of this transforming way of being with God. Contemplative Prayer

Following our Taizé service, move to the carpeted area at the front of the Chapel, where we will sit together in silence for 20 minutes. If you have never practiced Contemplative Prayer, someone will be there to get you started. Meditation cushions and back jacks will be provided, or you can sit in the front pew.

Join us and Susan Spangler as we learn more about Mindfulness Meditation and engage in this ancient prayer form together. Both those who are new to meditation and those with meditation experience are heartily welcome. Mindfulness is the moment-to-moment awareness of our experience with an accepting, non-judgmental, kind attention. In this ongoing practice, we'll explore and deepen our experience of mindfulness. Our weekly time together will include meditation instruction, guided meditations, and practices for supporting mindfulness in everyday life.
