ELPC offers evening prayers with chants from Taizé every Wednesday at 7 pm, in the Chapel. The hour-long service includes sung prayers, beautiful music, a time of silence, spoken and silent prayers, and opportunities for individual prayer and anointing. Childcare is usually available, but please call to confirm. Join us and Susan Spangler as we learn more about Mindfulness Meditation and engage in this ancient prayer form together. Both those who are new to meditation and those with meditation experience are heartily welcome. Mindfulness is the moment-to-moment awareness of our experience with an accepting, non-judgmental, kind attention. In this ongoing practice, we'll explore and deepen our experience of mindfulness. Our weekly time together will include meditation instruction, guided meditations, and practices for supporting mindfulness in everyday life.

Journey Prayer Time is a half-hour session with a few songs, an extended time for prayer, a reflection on the day’s bible passage, and Christian fellowship for mutual support and upbuilding. This prayer service will be alternately led by Pastors Randy, Heather, Patrice, and Mary Lynn. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

In the summer months, ELPC changes to its summer worship schedule. The Journey service at 8:45 am, and the Sanctuary service at 11 am, are combined into one summer worship service that starts at 10 am, in the Sanctuary. The adult choir or Journey worship team continue to provide music leadership. In July, August, and on the first Sunday in September this service is held in our Courtyard—weather permitting. The Chapel Market, which provides gently worn, donated clothing to those who need it for free, is open for shopping and donating on Mondays, from 10 am–2 pm. The Market is located in the Wayfarer's Chapel on the ground floor at  ELPC, by the Whitfield Street entrance. Centering Prayer

Drawn from the ancient Christian contemplative tradition, centering prayer is presented in an updated, accessible four-step method. The Centering Prayer group aims to sit in silence for 20 minutes of prayer, and supports its members in their ongoing practice of this transforming way of being with God.
