Joe Negri returns, May 10, 11:00 service
Join us on Mother's Day, May 10, beginning at 10:45, to hear the glorious sounds of Joe Negri. The Joe Negri Combo will be presenting selections from Negri's The Mass of Hope.

Hope Academy Dance Students Performing in YouthMoves,
part of the NewMoves Contemporary Dance Festival. Presented by Kelly Strayhorn Theater. Sunday, May 10, 2009 (Mother's Day, 2:00 PM. Tickets $5 at the door. This program is organized by Hope Academy teaching artist and choreographer Staycee Pearl. youthMoves gives local children's dance programs the opportunity to showcase their work and experience performances designed for the young dance enthusiast. Dance companies and community arts organizations are convening to share information and resources before and after the show. (Click image to view event poster.)

Catch the Spirit! Vacation church school registration open
Registration forms are now available for students and volunteers for vacation church school 2009. Join us as we "Catch the Spirit!" through our study of the book of Acts, worship, games, crafts, and more. VCS serves children age 3 (toilet trained) through grade 5. Volunteer spots are open for youth (grades 6 - 12) and adults.

Young Adult Ministries Tuesday Evening Study Group
Join us on May 12 as we continue our study of David in I and II Samuel, with its unblinking and instructive portrait of this all too human king. May 12, 7:00 - 9:00 pm. "David the Human," II Samuel 11-19, led by DaMisha Probst.

ELPC in the Community

Rev. Bush in St. Andrews recital, May 7
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church will hold a Choral Evensong service at 8:00 pm on Thursday May 7. Following the service, Rev. Bush will present a short piano recital featuring the music of Brahms and Villa-Lobos. The recital begins at 8:45 pm and is followed by desserts and refreshments.

Pittsburgh Gospel Choir Concert, May 9
The Pittsburgh Gospel Choir will hold a pre-Mother's Day concert at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, "A Time of Reflection and Celebration," Saturday May 9, 4:00 pm. Admission, $5.

East End Cooperative Ministries: Men's Shelter
The requested items-of-the-month for May are deodorant, shaving cream.
