Contemporaries: Preparing for Easter and All It Means, led by Dr. John Burgess, James Henry Snowden Professor of Systematic Theology at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. We will explore images and explanations that the Bible and church have used to portray heaven, hell, and life after death. Are they consistent? Where do they leave us with questions? What kind of hope does Easter offer us? Second floor parlor.

This weekend: Rev. John Bell from the Iona Community, March 12 - 14
The Rev. John Bell from the Iona Community will be in Pittsburgh leading workshops and classes at ELPC and at Church of the Redeemer. Rev. Bell is a much sought after speaker, sharing a passion for congregational music, spirituality, and reclaiming Jesus for today’s times. ... to our Nursery Open House! Join us this coming Sunday, March 14, from 10:00 - 10:30 am. Families of children up to age three are invited. We’ll share a light continental breakfast and learn more about ELPC’s Young Children’s Ministry. You’ll receive an introduction to the nursery, meet staff and volunteers, and share fellowship with other families. First floor nursery.
Lenten crosses
Lent is an opportunity to deepen our relationship with God. The Spiritual Life Committee invites you to imagine what you want to give to God during Lent. Offerings can be expressed on paper; there is no limit to what you can give to God: prayers, concerns, celebrations, and more.
Pittsburgh youth artworks
Our third exhibit will feature youth artwork from students at the Neighborhood Academy and the Schumann Youth Detention Center. Displays in Room 234 and the Second Floor Parlor, March 14 - 28. Exhibit coordinated by ELPC member Sue Bailey. For details,

Greeting cards needed
The deacons request donations of greeting cards to send to ELPC members who are ill, grieving, or unable to attend church. Cards for all occasions are appreciated, but the most frequently used are get well, thinking of you, and sympathy. Cards may be left in the church office. Thank you in advance for your gift–you can be sure you will help brighten someone’s day!

ELPC in the Community
EECM “Have a Heart for Hunger” Campaign
Thousands of men, women, and children in our community don’t know where their next meal is coming from. EECM’s Hunger Programs provided meals and groceries to over 4,000 individuals just last year alone. Through the end of March, any donations you make to the EECM will go twice as far! ELPC will also be having a special food drive in the coming weeks. Find out more about the Have a Heart Campaign.
East End Cooperative Ministries (EECM) Men’s Shelter
During the month of March, the Deacons are collecting razors and men’s underwear (M-XL) for EECM’s Men's Shelter. Donations may be left in the hallway baskets. Thank you for your support!
