Our regular worship schedule and full array of Church School classes resume next Sunday, September 11. Join us for this exciting event, as children get reacquainted with their Sunday School teachers, adults find opportunities for fellowship and learning through our many educational programs. September 11 peace & interfaith services
On this day, we mark the 10th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center with an afternoon peace service: Read more. A 5pm interfaith service will also be held at the Rodef Shalom temple, where Rev. Bush will be preaching the sermon, “Prisoners of Hope.”

Worship services, Sunday September 4, 2011

With celebration of the Lord’s supper.

• 8:00 am: Good Samaritan Worship; Rev. Saleem Ghubril preaching, Presbyterian minister and Executive Director of Pittsburgh Promise.
• 10:00 am: Sanctuary Worship; Rev. Dr. Randall K. Bush preaching: “Radical Hospitality: Welcoming Words,”Matthew 9:1-8.

For the month of September, Rev. Bush will be preaching sermons related to the theme “Radical Hospitality,” with scripture from the book of Matthew, chapter 9.

Christian Education

• Christian Education classes are starting soon! Please join us at 9:30 on September 11 for Rally Day and the beginning of the new church classes term. The fall schedule is now on the webpage! Come find your favorite class or try a new class.

Worship and prayer opportunities during the week

• Taizé prayer service: Every Wednesday, 7:00 pm in the Chapel. Join us September 7 at 8:15, after the Taizé service, for a Tower Sing! Wear closed-toed shoes as we will climb the bell tower and sing out over the Pittsburgh skyline.

East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Food Pantry
The EECM Food Pantry provides food for individuals and families facing hunger in Pittsburgh. September’s “Food of the Month” is macaroni and cheese.

East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Men’s Shelter
During the month of September, the Deacons are continuing to collect deodorant, shampoo, and men’s socks for EECM’s Men’s Shelter. Donations may be left in the hallway baskets. Thank you for your support!
