September 18 is the Church Picnic!
Join us September 18th after the 11am worship service for our annual church picnic. Seating will be available in the Social Hall as well as in the Courtyard. The Christian Education Ministry Team will provide fried chicken and hot dogs, and the Stewardship Committee will provide a special dessert in celebration of our congregation’s generous giving this year. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish to share. Read more details

Bible 116, adult Bible study, resumes Monday, September 19 at noon
Please join Rev. Bush and Rev. Schoenewolf for a lunchtime Bible Study on Mondays, starting September 19, from noon to 1:00 pm in the Second Floor Parlor. Bring a bag lunch and a Bible and be a part of the conversation as we explore the scriptural text that will be central to the worship service the following week. Read more
Presbyterian Women Fall 2011 Retreat, September 24
All women are invited to deepen their prayer lives at our Fall Retreat at ELPC on Saturday, September 24. Our theme is “Praying In Many Ways,” with The Rev. Suzanne Bennett leading the retreat. Read more

This Visitors’ Sunday theme is “Spiritual Life.” Members are encouraged to bring a guest to one of our worship services. Membership and Outreach will welcome all visitors with a small gift. Please wear your name tag, or fill one out when you arrive at church. Following the 11 am worship service, join us in the Social Hall for ELPC’s Spiritual Life Sampler and fellowship time. Learn about new small groups, workshops and classes.

East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Food Pantry
The EECM Food Pantry provides food for individuals and families facing hunger in Pittsburgh. September’s “Food of the Month” is instant mashed potatoes.

During the month of September, the Deacons are continuing to collect deodorant, shampoo, and men’s socks for EECM’s Men’s Shelter. Donations may be left in the hallway baskets. Thank you for your support! |
