Spotlight

Rev. Saleem Ghubril, guest preacher for Children’s Sabbath
Children’s Sabbath, is part of the overall focus of October being “Mission Month.” It is a time for us to lift up and celebrate the children in our midst, offer prayers for children everywhere, and remind ourselves of God’s call to work for the well-being of all children. We also educate ourselves about programs and mission efforts that work on behalf of children who are in need. We welcome to the pulpit Presbyterian pastor and executive director of Pittsburgh Promise, the Rev. Saleem Ghubril. Join us after the service in room 234 for a reception and the opportunity to hear more from the Rev. Ghubril.

Health Fair, October 23, 12:00 - 2:30pm
The Health Ministry Committee will be hosting a Health Fair after the 11:00 worship service, including flu shots, diabetic screenings, blood pressure checks, and more. In the Church Social Hall. Read more

Who are our neighbors?
A new and exciting partnership has formed between The Open Door and ELPC to explore possibilities and issues related to Latino ministry. Our next meeting on Oct 17 at 6:30 pm at ELPC will cover the topic “The Elephant in The Room: Illegal

East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Food Pantry
The EECM Food Pantry provides food for individuals and families facing hunger in Pittsburgh. October’s “Food of the Month” is rice.

East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Men’s Shelter
During the month of October, the Deacons are continuing to collect deodorant, shampoo, and men’s socks for EECM’s Men’s Shelter. Donations may be left in the hallway baskets. Thank you for your support!
