Pastor Emeriti, This Sunday April 22!
ELPC is pleased to welcome back two of our “pastor emeriti” at the 11:00 worship service on April 22. The Rev. Dr. Robert A. Chesnut (Senior Pastor 1988-2002) will preach at the 11 am worship service, with the Rev. Dr. J. Richard Szeremany (Director of Worship, Music, and the Arts, 1995-2010). We look forward to welcoming back these two pastors and have them share their gifts for worship once more in our church!
ELPC Architectural Study Discussion, April 21, 1pm
Whether or not you were able to come to any of the focus groups about the potential architectural changes of our first floor hospitality areas and Chapel, please plan on attending the meeting on Saturday, April 21 at 1 pm in the Social Hall when several (very tentative) plans will be shown. You will be able to offer input, suggestions and comments.

Worship and prayer opportunities during the week
Taizé prayer service, every Wednesday at 7pm. The hour-long service includes sung prayers, simple, beautiful music, a time of silence, spoken and silent prayers, and opportunity for individual prayer. In the Chapel.
- Labyrinth prayer walk: Open 9:00 am to 1:30 pm on Mondays, and 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Wednesdays. In the Social Hall.
- Centering Prayer: Every Tuesday, 7:00pm. Second floor library.

Evening adult bible study resumes April 25
Please join Rev. Bush and Rev. Schoenewolf for an evening Bible Study every Wednesday, from 6pm to 7pm pm in the Second Floor Parlor. Be a part of the conversation as we explore the scriptural text that will be central to the worship service the following week. Bring your own bible, or bibles provided. Volunteers are invited to bring soup to share, .

Join ELPC Elder Nancy Klancher for a film screening and discussion series, continuing April 26, as she leads a discussion on the film series “Reel-World Religions, Inter-Religious Encounters in Contemporary Film.” Meets in the chapel. Meet Rev. Dr. Chris Iosso, Saturday April 21, 3pm
ELPC’s Peace Committee and the Peacemaking Ministry Team of Pittsburgh Presbytery will co-sponsor a discussion with the Rev. Dr. Chris Iosso, Director of Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy PC(USA). We will explore current Presbyterian policy regarding the Middle East. All are welcome; refreshments will be served. Day One Broadcast with Rev. Bush
A special conversation and sermon recorded by the Rev. Bush will be broadcast on the Day 1 Radio network at 10:30 am, on Sun., April 22. Tune in locally to WWNL (1080 AM). This broadcast also will be available online. Day 1 is the voice of mainline churches in America, featuring distinguished preachers, sermons, meditations, and community discussions of important issues.

East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Food Pantry
The EECM Food Pantry provides food for individuals and families facing hunger in Pittsburgh. April’s “Food of the Month” is peanut butter.
East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Men’s Shelter
During the month of April, the Deacons will collect men’s toothpaste, shampoo, flip flops/shower shoes for EECM’s Men’s Shelter. Donations may be left in the hallway baskets. Thank you for your support! |
