Pentecost Sunday and Pentecost Offering, May 27
Pentecost is one of the most ancient festivals of the Christian church. The Christian Pentecost comes 50 days after Easter and is when we remember the gift of the Holy Spirit at the birth of the church. Join us as we welcome Pentecost through a special service of flames, officer ordinations, proclamation and spirit! The 2012 Pentecost Offering will also be received, with 40% supporting Valley View Presbyterian Church’s Summer Freedom Camp for community youth.
Full of Noises! May 26 or May 27 @ 7 pm
Let Hope Academy’s HAT Co students dazzle you in the end-of-year showcase performance of The Tempest. Shakespeare's final work about the power and magic of forgiveness is adapted by Hope Academy's Teen Theater Company (HAT Co). Come see the Social Hall transformed into an island, with a witch, some tricksy spirits, a monster and a couple of drunken fools. The isle is full of noises and the sweet sounds of songs including original songs and soundscape by our musicians. These performances are FREE. Doors open at 6:45 pm each night.

In honor of Memorial Day, the church building will be closed on Monday May 28. Memorial Day honors the memory of the soldiers who died while serving their country, and the men and women who continue to serve. To all in our congregation whose families have borne sacrifice, we extend our thoughts and prayers. “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, says the Spirit. They rest from their labors, and their deeds follow them.” - Rev. 14:13.
