News and events
Frontera de Cristo Mission Trip Meetings, August 12 & 19
Anyone considering participation in the October mission trip to Mexico is encouraged to attend preparation meetings following the 10 am worship service on August 12 and 19. The first meeting will provide information to guide the discernment and decision-making process. The second meeting will focus on advance planning for the trip. Both meetings will be in Room 244. For more info, contact Michele Bossers (michele2285@gmail.com).
Spiritual Life Book Discussions, Tuesdays through August 28
Continuing Tuesdays through August 28, join us from 6-7pm for a book discussion of The Sabbath by Abraham Joshua Heschel. While Heschel writes as a Jewish scholar, his understanding of Sabbath provides a context for us to begin to place the practice of sabbath within the structure of our own lives. Childcare available.
Poverty mission opportunity, Saturday August 11, 8am-12pm
The Poverty Committee is organizing a volunteer opportunity at Valley View Presbyterian Church’s food pantry. Valley View hosts a food pantry, and we need some extra hands for boxing and carrying food for recipients. For more info, contact Dick Headley, (412) 421-5871, or view the Mission events page for more information.
