Open Gym Time for Families!
Tues, Jan 29th | 2pm - 4pm
On Tuesday, January 29th, the Pittsburgh Public Schools are closed. But, the Gym and Bowling Alley at East Liberty Presbyterian Church will be open for parents and adults to bring children and youth for a time of intergenerational recreation. Staff and volunteers will be on hand but adults are expected to stay at the church and chaperon the children they bring. For more information please call Sara Hackett, (412) 441-3800 x20.

- Labyrinth prayer walk: Come away from the hectic and busy for some quiet, prayerful moments with God: Join us Mondays from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm; or Wednesdays, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
- Taizé prayer service: Every Wednesday at 7pm, in the Chapel. The hour-long service includes sung, spoken, and silent prayers, beautiful music, a time of silence, and opportunity for individual prayer. Join us after the service on Wednesday, January 30, for Celebrations.

Join us for Engaged Spirituality: Exploring the Connection Between Mission and Spirituality, with Judy Menk. What do you think of when you hear the word “spirituality?” Judy, an ELPC Elder, will guide us through an exploration of the connection between mission and spirituality, of this life-giving and self-giving, twofold journey on Sunday, Feb 3 at 12:15 pm. Presbyterian Women Bible Study, “The Elders,” Tuesday, Feb 5, 10am
The General Epistles (1 and 2 Peter, 1-3 John and Jude) were meant to inspire and comfort the faithful in first century Asia Minor, and they continue to speak to us today as we seek to live in community as disciples of Christ. Join us for bible study at 10am. A potluck lunch follows. Please bring a salad or snack to share. Beverages will be provided. Meets in the Second Floor Parlor. Lectio Divina, February 3, 6pm
The Spiritual Life Committee invites you to a series of Lectio Divina workshops which aim to deepen the relationship of participants with the Divine through a practice based on two approaches: Lectio Divina, an ancient practice for meditating on scripture, and the four senses of scripture. Lectio Divina is an ancient practice for meditating on scripture, listening and responding to the scripture as if in conversation with God. Classes will continue through the spring. East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Food Pantry
The EECM Food Pantry provides food for individuals and families facing hunger in Pittsburgh. February’s “Food of the Month” is canned tuna.
East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM) Men’s Shelter
During the winter months, the Deacons are collecting warm socks, hats, scarves, and gloves for EECM’s Men’s Shelter. Donations may be left in the hallway baskets. Thank you for your support! |
