Board of Deacons

The Board of Deacons at East Liberty Presbyterian Church is called by God to seek out and serve the needs of those in greatest need—the poor, the sick, the homeless, the aged, the distressed and the disenfranchised. The work they do is both spiritual and practical in nature, ministering to the family of faith within ELPC, and striving to recognize and soothe the suffering within the local and surrounding community.

The strength of their resources comes from their willingness to share God's Grace and the capacity to commit to hard work. This is accomplished in part by sponsoring, organizing and participating in numerous Deacon activities throughout the year.

Seasonal ministries:

  • Delivering Easter lilies to homebound members.

  • Hosting an annual luncheon honoring older church members and their guests.

  • Providing gift certificates for food to families in need at Thanksgiving.

  • Organizing the Advent Giving Tree which provides less-advantaged children with Christmas gifts they would not otherwise receive.
