Vacation Church School

Vacation Church School or VCS (sometimes called Vacation Bible School) at ELPC is usually a week-long program in the summer. It’s an opportunity for children ages 3-1/2 (potty-trained) through fifth grade to share worship, stories, discussion, activities, and meals.

VCS 2012: June 25 - 29, 9am to 3pmTaste and See

This year’s theme is “Take Me To The Water--God’s Love Flows.” We will explore Bible stories where we learn about God’s love, God’s healing, and God’s power through stories that involve water. Once again, our days will be filled with worship, music, crafts, recreation, study, special daily activities, and a field trip to the park. VCS is open for children age 3-1/2 (must have turned 3 by January 1, 2012) through children who have completed grade 5. Youth in grades 6 and up and adult volunteers are needed to help make our week a success. VCS will run daily from 9am - 3pm. Pre-registration is required. Volunteer and participant registration forms will be available by the end of April. For more information contact Gloria Knopp, (412) 441-3800 x22. View the flyer

VCS Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are always welcome to serve as teachers and helpers; and also in the craft, recreation, snack, and special events areas. Whether you can help for three hours or for the whole week, your gift of time is welcome! All adult volunteers must have their Act 33/34 Clearances (ELPC will gladly pay for your clearances) and will receive training on our Child Safety Policy.

Youth in grades 6–12 also are invited to serve! Youth volunteers are required to attend training usually held in early June.

One More Way to Help

If you would like to help, but are unable to volunteer, there is one more way you can help! We will usually post a donation bulletin board located outside the East Transept of the sanctuary on the Sundays preceding VCS. Take a tag that lists a supply or snack and return the items by the appointed date.

For questions, please contact Gloria Knopp, (412) 441-3800 x22.
