Worship Services

Journey Worship | Sunday, at 8:45 am
An interactive, energetic service for those seeking a fresh encounter with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our theme this month is Tolerance. Pastor Randy will preach from James 3:1–13.

Sanctuary Worship | Sunday, at 11 am
Our largest service, with music from the Chancel Choir and an organ prelude prior to the service. Pastor Randy will preach from James 3:13–18, and his sermon will be titled “Living the Good Life.” The Renaissance City Choir will join us as our special musical guests as we celebrate Full Inclusion Sunday.

Taizé Prayer Service | Wednesday, at 7 pm
Led by the Rev. Mary Lynn Callahan, our hour-long Taizé service includes sung prayers; simple, beautiful music; a time of silence; spoken and silent prayers; and an opportunity for individual prayer and anointing. Stay afterward for Contemplative Prayer. If you’re unable to participate in person, join our live stream on your computer or mobile device.

Christian Education Classes

We offer Christian Education classes for persons of all ages, from infancy through adulthood, on Sundays from 9:45–10:45 am. Click the links for adult class descriptions and children and youth offerings.

Contemporaries | Harambe Room
The Four Freedoms: Religion Part 1
In January 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt identified four fundamental freedoms that people “everywhere in the world” ought to enjoy—freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. Professor Ron Stone will lead a four-week series on the theological and ethical basis for these freedoms in light of the current political environment. We will begin with consideration of the freedom of religion.

Journey With Scripture | Second Floor Library
“Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob”—Psalm 99:4. Join us as we seek to understand God’s love of justice and equity: through the journey of the Israelites in the wilderness, psalms of praise and confession, parables of Jesus, and the apostle Paul’s encouragement to new followers in Christ.

This week, our readings are: Exodus 32:1–14; Psalm 106:1–6,19–23; Philippians 4:1–9; and Matthew 22:1–14.

Seekers | Chapel
Mission Malawi
Pastor Patrice will tell us about her experiences from her recent trip to Malawi, including the warm hospitality, ministering to the sick and disabled, and witnessing the Spirit of God among the Malawians.

Soul Food | Third Floor Music Room
Join us for a concluding discussion of Richard Rohr’s Everything Belongs, chapter two, led by the Rev. Joe Hajdu, Linda Harrington, and Michelle Bard.

Young Adults | Second Floor Parlor
Together with our senior high youth, we will focus on the topic of race as we study the Word and build relationships with our future young adults.
