Presbyterian Women Bible Study
October 1 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The psalmist declared, “The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein” (Psalm 24:1). In this understanding, humans are tenants on the land; put there “to work for” and “to serve” the land. We have much to atone for as we survey the Hebrew Bible’s complex message about land and reflect on our own US history of separating Indigenous peoples from their land. For millennia, oppressors have claimed their violent conquests were ordained by God and taken land from Indigenous people, denying them the ability to grow subsistence food and leaving them impoverished.
Join us on Tuesday, October 1, 10 am–12 pm (Hybrid), or Monday, October 7, 7–8:30 pm (on Zoom). Our Tuesday morning Bible Study will be followed by a potluck lunch in the Fellowship Room. Bring a dish to share with the group; beverages will be provided.

This year’s PW Bible Study, “Sacred Encounters,” is based on stories in Luke–Acts. The Gospel of Luke describes the power and presence of Jesus Christ on people. The Acts of the Apostles describes the power of Christ working through the people of the early Christian movement. This study challenges the 21st century church to demonstrate the transformational love of Christ Jesus.
Our Monday group typically meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 pm, and focuses on the Bible study. Our Tuesday group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am. In addition to Bible study, this group will explore mission work, set aside time for “women-ship,” discuss the business of the group, and enjoy lunch.
