SUMMARY:Silent Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Come away and rest in God!  Deepen your intimacy with God!\nThe Spiritual Life Committee invites you to a weekend Silent Retreat\, Friday\, October 11\, 6 pm\, until Sunday\, October 13\, 12 pm\, at The Ark and the Dove Retreat Center on Babcock Blvd. in the North Hills (formerly Providence Villa and Cardinal Wright Center). \nWe will gather for conversation and dinner on Friday\, followed by Compline when we will enter silence. Silence will be broken during worship on Sunday morning\, followed by conversation over brunch before we depart. Included with the retreat is the opportunity to meet with the Rev. Mary Lynn Callahan as spiritual director. \nIf you have never made a silent retreat before\, this is an excellent place to begin—just enough silence without being overwhelming. \nThe cost is $120\, which includes accommodations for two nights\, dinner Friday evening\, three meals on Saturday\, and brunch on Sunday\, as well as the opportunity to meet with a spiritual director. SUMMARY:Writing a Racial Autobiography
DESCRIPTION:Our fall 2019 Facing Systemic Racism series will focus on writing a racial autobiography. We invite you to join us for a three-week\, introspective writing workshop\, where we will reflect upon\, share\, and develop our individual experiences with race and create our own racial autobiography. Writing materials are provided. It is optional to bring photos. Attend one or all three sessions—each one stands alone. \nThe sessions will be held on Saturdays\, September 28\, October 5\, and October 12\, 5:30–7:30 pm.
