SUMMARY:VCS 2023: Changemakers Lab
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Vacation Church School (VCS) program will take place June 26–30\, 9 am–3 pm\, for children in pre-K (age 4 and potty-trained) through grade 5 (completed). \nOur theme this summer is Changemakers Lab\, a place children will learn that everyone can make a difference in the world! Through five Bible stories\, we’ll explore examples of people who experienced and brought about change in the world around them. These people provide a model for asking hard questions\, working together to solve problems\, reaching across differences\, caring for all people\, and imagining a new world. Through worship and drama\, Bible study\, STEAM activities (science\, technology\, engineering\, art\, math)\, and active games\, children are invited to see and experience the transforming love of God. \nParents\, the preschool class currently has a waitlist. Join her and others in the ELPC Sanctuary or your own home via Zoom (password: Yamuna) as she guides you through gentle poses. No yoga experience is necessary to enjoy the class\, which Yamuna continues to offer with joy\, light\, and her uplifting playlists and spirit. Have a strap\, scarf\, or belt handy and experience time to heal your body\, mind\, and spirit. \nCommune with the Divine through breath\, gentle stretches\, mindful music\, and guided meditation. DESCRIPTION:ELPC offers evening prayers with chants from Taizé every Wednesday\, 7 pm\, in the Chapel. The hour-long service includes sung prayers\, beautiful music\, a time of silence\, spoken and silent prayers\, and opportunities for individual prayer and anointing. For more information\, view our Taizé page. \nDownload this week’s bulletin. \n\nAbout ELPC’s Taizé Prayer Service\nOur Taizé prayer service is based on a style of worship developed at the Taizé community in France founded in the 1940s by the late Brother Roger. Originally a refuge during the war\, Taizé has developed into an ecumenical prayer center for visitors from all over the world. Today\, the Taizé community is made up of over a hundred resident brothers\, both Catholics and from various Protestant backgrounds/traditions. Taizé wants to be a sign of reconciliation between divided Christians and between separated peoples.
