SUMMARY:Cathedral Concerts | Requiem
DESCRIPTION:The ELPC Chancel Choir will present Gabriel Fauré’s serene and uplifting Requiem\, accompanied by strings\, horns\, harp\, and organ in the Sanctuary. The seven parts of Requiem include some of the most beautiful melodies Fauré ever composed\, including the sublime Pie Jesu for soprano solo. \nThe concert is free\, but a freewill offering will be received. DESCRIPTION:The ninth season of ELPC’s Cathedral Concerts series continues with Pittsburgh saxophone legend Mike Tomaro and his combo performing jazz favorites. Joining Mike will be Max Leake on piano\, Paul Thompson on bass\, and Tom Wendt on drums. The concert will feature a “Sweet Jazz” theme\, and the audience is encouraged to bring treats to share! \nTomaro—an accomplished composer\, arranger\, and educator—currently serves as director of the Jazz Studies program at the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University. \nThe concert is free\, but a freewill offering will be received.
