DESCRIPTION:Our Centering Meditation group will not meet on New Year’s Day\, Wednesday\, January 1. Our next gathering will be Wednesday\, January 8. \n\nDrawn from the ancient Christian contemplative tradition\, centering prayer is presented in an updated\, accessible four-step method. The Centering Prayer group aims to sit in silence for 20 minutes of prayer\, and supports its members in their ongoing practice of this transforming way of being with God. Centering Prayer is a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. This method of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with Christ. Attendance every week is not required–you are welcome to join us anytime. The group meets every Thursday evening throughout the year. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Labyrinth will not be available on New Year’s Day\, Wednesday\, January 1. \n\nThe labyrinth is an ancient\, sacred symbol found in many religious traditions throughout the world. Today\, modern pilgrims walk the labyrinth as one of many ways to pray and meditate. The winding path into the center and back out again is a metaphor for the journeys of life and faith. Unlike a maze\, which has many paths and is a puzzle to solve\, the labyrinth is a single path in and a single path out\, and is designed to quiet the mind for prayer and meditation. Members and non-members welcome. \n\nThe Labyrinth is available on Mondays\, 7 am–1 pm\, and Wednesdays\, 9 am–9 pm.

Classes for people of all ages will resume on Winter Rally Day\, Sunday\, January 12. \n\nThe ELPC Christian Education (CE) Committee offers Church School classes and events for all ages—from infants to adults. CE is the life-long process of learning and living in relationship to God\, our neighbors\, and ourselves. DESCRIPTION:Anyone involved in parenting (singles\, couples\, adoptive parents\, step-parents\, grandparents\, guardians\, mentors\, etc.) are welcome to join us in the Harambe Room on Sundays during the Church School hour\, beginning Sunday\, January 12. \nGathering time starts at 9:45 am\, but our formal discussion won’t start until 10 am\, so that families have time to drop off their children at their classes. We share experiences\, resources\, prayer\, and scripture as we explore how our faith builds and nourishes our family lives\, as well as nurtures our parent/child relationships. Join us as we learn from one another ways to foster closer family relationships in the context of creating active faith communities.

Drop by for fellowship and creativity as your schedule permits. Hand sewing\, machine sewing\, cutting\, or organizing skills are always needed. Come help us make something that will express our care for someone next door or a world away. \nFor those who are not able to attend our scheduled gatherings\, we can make kits of some of our projects for home sewing so that you may participate on your own schedule.
