SUMMARY:Teilhard’s Mysticism Guided Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The ELPC Spiritual Life Committee invites you to a retreat guided by Teilhard’s Mysticism—Spiraling into the Cosmic Christ. Join us as we continue our focus on Science\, Cosmology\, Theology\, and Mysticism\, based on the work of Teilhard de Chardin—a 20th Century Jesuit and world-renowned paleontologist. \nThe suggested donation is $75\, which includes refreshments throughout the weekend and lunch on Sunday. Please bring your own lunch on Saturday. \nOur retreat will be led by Dr. Kathleen Duffy—a Sister of St. Joseph (S.S.J.) and a professor of Physics at Chestnut Hill College\, where she directs the Interdisciplinary Honors Program and the Institute for Religion and Science. More information will be available soon! \nThe retreat will take begin at ELPC on Friday\, June 16\, 6–9 pm; continue on Saturday\, June 17\, 9 am–5 pm; and conclude on Sunday\, June 18\, 1–5 pm. \nDownload the retreat brochure and/or the registration form. \n\nAbout Dr. Kathleen Duffy\nDr. Kathleen Duffy is editor of Teilhard Studies and serves on the Advisory Boards of the American Teilhard Association and Cosmos and Creation. Her present research deals with the way Teilhard de Chardin’s religious writings connect with modern science. She has published several book chapters and articles on these topics\, an edited volume of essays entitled Rediscovering Teilhard’s Fire (St. Joseph’s University Press\, 2010)\, and Teilhard’s Mysticism: Seeing the Inner Face of Evolution (Orbis Books\, 2014).
