SUMMARY:Children's Sabbath Sanctuary Worship
DESCRIPTION:This week\, ELPC will take part in the annual observance of Children’s Sabbath\, co-sponsored by the Justice and Christian Education Committees. This year’s theme is How Long Must I Cry for Help? Bending the Arc Toward God’s Vision of Justice for Children. Sister Linda Yankoski\, president and CEO of Holy Family Institute (HFI)\, will deliver the message at the Journey and Sanctuary services. In addition\, The Brass Roots will provide special music. \nHFI was founded more than 100 years ago by the Sisters of Nazareth. Their mission is to empower children and families to lead responsible lives and develop healthy and meaningful relationships built on faith\, hope\, and love. Most recently\, HFI provided the Journey of Hope Initiative\, offering housing and services to unaccompanied children under 12\, who entered the United States through the southwestern border. \nThis service is held in the sanctuary on the first floor\, with an organ prelude before the service. SUMMARY:Pastor Randy to Malawi: Worship & Reception
DESCRIPTION:As part of Pittsburgh Presbytery’s longstanding relationship with Presbyterians in Malawi\, Pastor Randy will be part of a group visiting Malawi from July 14–29. This group\, sponsored by the Presbytery’s International Partnership\, also will include three delegates from sister congregations in South Sudan. ELPC has a direct relationship with the rural church in Balaka\, Malawi\, which Pastor Randy will get to visit.
