DESCRIPTION:Pittsburgh Pride events are opportunities to celebrate and support Pittsburgh’s diverse community of LGBTQ+ people and their allies. ELPC’s LGBTQ Ministry members have prayerfully and thoughtfully selected several Pride events sponsored by different Pittsburgh Pride organizations so that we might reach a wide audience. As people of faith\, these are excellent opportunities for us to be a public witness to God’s love and justice for all God’s people. \nAll members of our faith family are invited to stand for love and justice this summer. Our regular schedule resumes on Wed.\, July 11. \n\nDrawn from the ancient Christian contemplative tradition\, centering prayer is presented in an updated\, accessible four-step method. The Centering Prayer group aims to sit in silence for 20 minutes of prayer\, and supports its members in their ongoing practice of this transforming way of being with God. Centering Prayer is a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. This method of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with Christ. Attendance every week is not required–you are welcome to join us anytime. The group meets every Thursday evening throughout the year. \n

DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the renovation\, we have replaced or rediscovered many pieces of furniture which we no longer need or can use. But just in case someone might be able to use them\, we are going to be having a Social Hall Garage “Sale” on Saturday and Sunday\, July 8 and 9. These pieces will be brought to the Social Hall stage area for you to look and adopt. Everything is free to a good home\, although there will be a place for you to leave a donation if you so desire. DESCRIPTION:Learn to play an instrument\, make beats\, sing\, rap\, write music and then put it all together into a performance. This camp is for aspiring young musicians\, from 9 to 17 years old\,  of all ability levels (even if you’ve never played an instrument or performed with a group before). \nThe camp runs from Monday–Saturday\, July 23–28 | 9 am–3 pm\, with a final performance on Saturday\, July 28 at 2:30 pm. \nInstruments: voice\, violin\, viola\, cello\, flute\, clarinet\, guitar\, bass\, marimba\, percussion and more. SUMMARY:High School Mission Trip to Hampden\, WV
DESCRIPTION:Join current 8th-12th grade students as we serve with West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps whose mission is to offer the opportunity for discipleship by partnering with those in need whose lives have been devastated by natural disasters or by the disaster of poverty. We will serve in Hampden\, West Virginia\, located on the steeps of Horsepen Mountain is a very remote location.  It is situated just yards from the entrance to a working coal mine. Volunteers serving here have the opportunity to take a step into West Virginia culture. \nThere are a number of required activities for the mission trip team members in the spring and early summer designed to build relationships between team members\, strengthen our service\, and deepen our experience. In this ongoing practice\, we’ll explore and deepen our experience of mindfulness.
