DESCRIPTION:Although the ELPC building remains closed to the public during these uncertain times\, ELPC invites you to watch an archived Taizé prayer service each Wednesday\, 7 pm. \nClick here and use the scroll bar on the far right of the screen to browse past services. \n\nELPC offers evening prayers with chants from Taizé every Wednesday at 7 pm\, in the Chapel. The hour-long service includes sung prayers\, beautiful music\, a time of silence\, spoken and silent prayers\, and opportunities for individual prayer and anointing. SUMMARY:Easter Sunday Church School
DESCRIPTION:Our Soul Food Church School class will be offering an online session on Easter Sunday\, April 12\, 10 am. Join us as we talk about our well-being\, discuss how the current crisis is affecting us spiritually\, and share prayer requests. Classes are held on Zoom by Tiffany Sudar and Linda Lane. New participants are asked to sign up in advance by contacting the Rev. Joe Hajdu as soon as possible. \nYouth\, as well as their families and learners of all ages\, also are invited to watch a special Easter Church School video on YouTube. Click here to watch. \n\nThe ELPC Christian Education (CE) Committee offers Church School classes and events for all ages—from infants to adults. CE is the life-long process of learning and living in relationship to God\, our neighbors\, and ourselves. Church School classes on Sundays\, 9:45–10:45 am\, from early September through early June\, unless otherwise noted. \nThrough the study of scripture and the practice of prayer\, we begin to understand our life experiences as they relate to the life\, death\, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. DESCRIPTION:The global theme of Earth Day’s 50th anniversary is Climate Action. More than a day\, Earth Day 2020 (Wednesday\, April 22) is called to be an historic movement as citizens of the world rise up in a united way for the creativity\, innovation\, ambition\, and bravery we need to meet our climate crisis and seize the enormous opportunities of a zero-carbon future. \nELPC will commemorate Earth Day during our worship services on Sunday\, April 26. Join us as we recognize this special anniversary\, celebrate ELPC’s movement towards environmental stewardship\, and acknowledge the “fierce urgency” of the climate crisis. \nThe Environmental Team of the Justice Committee also will launch the ELPC tree planting initiative.
