DESCRIPTION:The ninth season of ELPC’s Cathedral Concerts series kicks off with an exciting afternoon of jazz featuring the Deanna Witkowski Trio in the Sanctuary. Known for her thrilling performances that combine virtuosity and heart\, Witkowski returns to Pittsburgh after her recent performances at Heinz Hall with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Witkowski’s surprising sound is accessible yet unmistakably her own. \nThe New York City-based trio—comprised of pianist-composer-vocalist Deanna Witkowski\, bassist Daniel Foose\, and drummer Scott Latzky—will perform a mix of Brazilian\, jazz\, classical\, and sacred music. \nThe concert is free\, but a freewill offering will be received.
