SUMMARY:Hope Academy Students to Perform with Balafon West African Dance Ensemble at PBT’s Open Air Series
DESCRIPTION:Hope Academy students will be performing with Balafon West African Dance Ensemble on Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s mobile stage for Open Air: A Series in Celebration of the Performing Arts on Friday\, May 28\, 5:30 pm\, at Flagstaff Hill in Schenley Park. \nWe will be celebrating not only being together again\, in person\, after a year apart; but also Balafon’s 10 year anniversary! \nEveryone is invited to bring their own blankets or chairs to sit outside on the beautiful lawn of Flagstaff Hill in Schenley Park. Seating is free\, but you are encouraged to make a donation and sit in reserved seating – and support Balafon’s work. \nHope Academy Students and Other Young People are Invited to Dance with Mama K and Balafon at Open Air \nHope Academy students and any other young people who would like to perform with Mama K and Balafon at the Open Air Series are invited to attend a special rehearsal at Highland Park on Saturday\, May 22 during one of two rehearsal sessions at 10:00 and 11:00 am. \nPlease fill out this form if you are interested in dancing with Mama K and you will be emailed details. \nFor more information call 412-267-7705\, or email contact@balafon.org \nAbout Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Open Air: A Series in Celebration of the Performing Arts \nThe two-week event\, May 18–31\, will feature music\, theater\, and dance by performing artists from all over Pittsburgh.
