SUMMARY:Poverty Simulation
DESCRIPTION:Do you have what it takes to survive a month in poverty?\nSeveral area organizations are joining forces to launch Circles East Liberty—which will use a nationally recognized\, proven model to help families move out of poverty. Circles is not a budgeting class\, but a relationally driven program that benefits from the long-term relationships of “Circles Allies.” Circles Allies are community members who want to be in a supportive\, intentional\, befriending relationship with an individual or family working to get out of poverty. \nTo kick-off Circles East Liberty we are hosting a Poverty Simulation – a unique and powerful tool that deepens understanding of poverty. Developed by the Missouri Association for Community Action\, participants role-play a member of a low-income household and discover the difficulty and stressors of trying to meet a families basic needs when expenses are more than income.
