SUMMARY:Forest Bathing
DESCRIPTION:What is forest bathing? Well\, it is not a nature walk or a fitness hike. It is a 60-minute\, guided visit into the natural world\, where we will slow down\, awaken our senses\, and nurture our relationship with nature. Through a series of invitations\, we will find our own ways of connecting with nature as we relax into being present with the sights\, smells\, sounds\, textures\, and tastes of the woods. There’s no rush and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. \nJoin us in ELPC’s Courtyard to explore the hidden beauty found within the space’s architecture\, plants\, trees\, and flowers—even amidst winter. We will have a fire for warming as we slowly reflect on the beauty of the natural world. We will sit a lot and move slowly\, so dress appropriately and consider bringing a blanket. \nRSVP to Pastor BJ by Wednesday\, February 23.

With this concert\, we especially honor our transgender\, gender-queer\, gender non-binary\, and two-spirit family members\, who help to teach us that there are more colors in our crayon box than just pink and blue. Love will always win against hate and fear. \nTickets will be available at the door or at RCCPittsburgh.com. A sign language interpreter will be present. \nIf the weather is rainy\, the performance will take place in the Social Hall. \n\nThe choir is an Artist in Residence at ELPC\, where they rehearse and perform. RCC affirms and celebrates LGBTQ+ identity through the unifying power of music. \n

DESCRIPTION:In the half-day workshop\, 6 Passages for Re-Opening Inner Awareness through Hebrew Chant\, led by David Goldstein\, we will learn 6 passages for staying focused on what is important in our lives. We will deeply engage in sacred texts from the Hebrew Bible and other sources\, connect energetically with one another\, and gain wisdom from ancient traditions. We will draw on our memory and imagination and experience the rich depth of silence after the chant. \nAlthough Hebrew is the primary language of the texts that are chanted\, this workshop is fully inclusive and is open to people of all faith traditions. No prior knowledge of chanting\, meditation\, or the Hebrew language is required. \nThe cost is $30 in advance\, $35 at the door. Click here to register.
