Presbyterian Women Bible Study
September 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Six centuries before Jesus’ time, the prophet Ezekiel understood that care of creation and social justice are intertwined. We begin this year’s Bible Study with Scripture’s most direct image of ecological harm, Ezekiel 33:21; 34:8, 17–19.
Pastor Heather will lead our study this month, as we consider our call to protect the created world and to love our neighbors. We will examine contemporary environmental policies in light of our call. Reading the lesson in advance will help you prepare for a lively discussion.
Join us on Monday, September 9, 7–8:30 pm (on Zoom), or Tuesday, September 10, 10 am–12 pm (Hybrid). Our Tuesday morning Bible Study will be followed by a potluck lunch in honor of Pastor Heather and her ministry among us. Bring a dish to share with the group; beverages will be provided.

This year’s PW Bible Study, “Sacred Encounters,” is based on stories in Luke–Acts. The Gospel of Luke describes the power and presence of Jesus Christ on people. The Acts of the Apostles describes the power of Christ working through the people of the early Christian movement. This study challenges the 21st century church to demonstrate the transformational love of Christ Jesus.
Our Monday group typically meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 pm, and focuses on the Bible study. Our Tuesday group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10 am. In addition to Bible study, this group will explore mission work, set aside time for “women-ship,” discuss the business of the group, and enjoy lunch.
