The Rev. Heather Schoenewolf
Acting Co-Pastor and Pastor for Educational Ministries
Heather has served as the Associate Pastor of Educational Ministries at ELPC since the fall of 2007, after having first served on staff as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for five years. But Heather first fell in love with ELPC in the fall of 1997, when she first visited the church at a friend’s invitation. Drawn to ELPC for its witness to justice, diversity, and commitment to living out the love of Christ, she feels truly blessed to be able to serve here as Associate Pastor. Heather’s sense of call has been grounded in a desire to serve children and families in the city. Prior to sensing her call to congregational ministry, she worked in the not-for-profit arena on the staff of organizations serving children with special needs and families in crisis. Heather received her BA from Allegheny College with a self-designed major in Urban Studies, and received her Mater’s of Divinity at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, where she received the Brooks Commencement Prize for highest distinction in Pastoral Care and the Paul T. Gerrard Prize in Homiletics and Pastoral Care. Heather is married to her wonderful husband, David, and enjoys reading, yoga, playing guitar, laughing, good conversation, and spending time with loved ones.
