Here’s a list of what’s happening this week in our Church School classes. We offer Christian Education classes for persons of all ages, from infancy through adulthood, on Sundays, 9:45–10:45 am, unless otherwise noted. Read more about our adult classes and children and youth offerings.
Children and Youth
Our children and youth are deeply spiritual people with great theological questions. To foster these gifts and to help students learn the stories, vocabulary, and actions of the Christian life in a loving community, ELPC offers Church School classes for kids and youth from pre-K–grade 12. Class locations are listed below. Parents, please register your child online. Email Sara Hackett for more details.
Pre-K | Nursery
K–Grade 3 | Room 206
Grades 4–6 | Room 211
Grades 7–12 | Second Floor Parlor
Journey with Scripture | Fellowship Room
Join us as the Rev. Henk Bossers leads an exploration of the scripture passages that are represented in our Sanctuary’s stained glass windows. The scripture will remain our primary focus as we engage in a discussion around its original and current representation in our windows.
Go on a journey with us in December as we study the Bible’s Advent and Christmas passages and windows.
Parenting Circle | Room 213
We share experiences, resources, prayer, and scripture as we explore how our faith builds and nourishes our family lives, as well as nurtures our parent/child relationships. Anyone involved in parenting (singles, couples, adoptive parents, step-parents, grandparents, guardians, mentors, etc.) are welcome to join us.

Examining Troubling Words of Jesus from an Historical, Jewish Perspective
Dr. Amy-Jill Levine is Jewish, and is an author and New Testament scholar. In this video, Dr. Levine will discuss her book, The Difficult Words of Jesus. She examines troubling words of Jesus from an historical, Jewish standpoint, helping us to hear Jesus’ words as a 1st century Jew.
Join us in person or contact Gwen Puza for Zoom details.
Soul Food | Good Samaritan Room and Zoom
We’ll discuss chapter 10 and conclude our discussion of Barking to the Choir: The Power of Radical Kinship, by Fr. Gregory Boyle, founder of Homeboy Industries.
New participants are welcome in person, online, or by phone. If you’re interested in joining our class, email the Rev. Joe Hajdu.
