Here’s a list of what’s happening this week in our Church School classes. We offer Christian Education classes for persons of all ages, from infancy through adulthood, on Sundays, 9:45–10:45 am, unless otherwise noted. Youth classes are currently meeting after our Sanctuary worship service. Read more about our adult classes and children and youth offerings.
Journey with Scripture
“Those who trust in God will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with God in love.”—Wisdom of Solomon 3:9
Our series, titled Word Hidden and Revealed – The Apocrypha and The Apocalypse, continues during these Lenten times. We seek a truth and love of God that is not “in spite of.” Not in spite of our alienation (sin), hurt, and deep fears. Rather we will look for a truth and love given at the very heart of our need, hurt, and ugliness. Isn’t this a message of the cross and Christ? Through reflection on the scripture readings, we will ponder how these things can be made flesh in our lives. Join us on this journey.
Join us for this week’s readings: Psalm 20; Wisdom of Solomon 6:12–25; Revelation 12:1–17. Contact Sara Hackett for Zoom information.
Parenting Circle
We will continue discussing excerpts from Lauren Burdette’s book, This Life that is Ours, and how her insights connect to our unique perspectives and experiences of parenthood. Each class will have time for personal sharing and reflection on brief readings from the book. All people involved in parenting are welcome to join us, even if you haven’t read the book.
If you would like a copy of the book, contact the Rev. Heather Schoenewolf.

Jesus and the Not-So-Triumphal Entry
How and why did Jesus enter Jerusalem for the final time, and what was the intended significance? Answer: It depends on which Gospel you read. In this study, we will take a close look at the four distinct presentations of Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem in the canonical Gospels. Tucker Ferda, ELPC member and assistant professor of New Testament at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, will lead us as we examine what actually happened historically and how this event fits into the life of Jesus.
