Here’s a list of what’s happening this week in our Church School classes. We offer Christian Education classes for persons of all ages, from infancy through adulthood, on Sundays, 9:45–10:45 am, unless otherwise noted. Youth classes are currently meeting after our Sanctuary worship service. Read more about our adult classes and children and youth offerings.
Children | Pre-K–Grade 5
This month, we’ll explore the story of Moses together and see how God works through God’s people to bring justice and liberation to those who are oppressed. Once more, ELPC will provide an activity box with materials, book recommendations, crafts, science projects and questions for reflection that your family can use to explore this important biblical story and our larger call to love. As our entire church thinks intentionally about how we can live into our call as a Matthew 25 church to “dismantle systemic racism,” kids will learn more about how our faith calls us to stand up for what’s right, celebrate diversity, and to see each other through the lens of God’s love.
Journey with Scripture

October’s scriptures offer a contrasting social imagination to our current reality. Yet, as deeply as we all are enmeshed in a culture of individualism and distress, God calls listeners, out from worries, to invest now in justice, in loving neighbors, and attending to the community of faith. In God, well-being follows justice and faithfulness. We also begin reading how the Apostle Paul attends to these things. Join us as we reflect on:

Parenting Circle
We will discuss a reflection from Lauren Burdette’s book, This Life that is Ours, and how her insights connect to our unique perspectives and experiences of parenthood. There will be time to check in, reflect, and pray together. All people involved in parenting are welcome to join us, even if you haven’t read the book. Seekers
This is week two of Fr. Richard Rohr’s videos, based on his latest book, What Do We Do With Evil? This week, he discusses evil as structural and institutional, the “sin system,” and our lives within this world. Contact Gwen Puza for Zoom details.
Fr. Rohr is a globally recognized ecumenical teacher whose work is grounded in Christian mysticism, practices of contemplation, and compassion for the marginalized. He is a Franciscan priest and founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque.
