Worship Services
Journey Worship | Sunday, 8:45 am
An interactive, energetic service for those seeking a fresh encounter with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our theme this month is Reclaiming Our Spirit. Kalyn Stevwing, our intern from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, will preach from Psalm 23.
Sanctuary Worship | Sunday, 11 am
Our largest service, with music from the Chancel Choir and an organ prelude prior to the service. Pastor Randy will preach from Exodus 23:10–13 and his sermon will be titled “Global Sabbath Rest.”
Taizé Prayer Service | Wednesday, 7 pm
Led by the Rev. Mary Lynn Callahan, our hour-long Taizé service includes sung prayers; simple, beautiful music; a time of silence; spoken and silent prayers; and an opportunity for individual prayer and anointing. If you’re unable to participate in person, join our live stream on your computer or mobile device.
Christian Education Classes
We offer Christian Education classes for persons of all ages, from infancy through adulthood, on Sundays from 9:45–10:45 am. Click the links for adult class descriptions and children and youth offerings.
Contemporaries | Harambe Room
The Status of Jerusalem
Jerusalem is home to many of our oldest Catholic and Orthodox denominations, as well as several Protestant denominations. But, over the past 50 years of occupation, tens of thousands of Palestinian Christians have left the Holy Land. Tina Whitehead, an advocate for the Palestinian people, will talk about the significance of Jerusalem to the Abrahamic faiths and the recent decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Journey With Scripture | Second Floor Library
“Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common”—Acts 4:32.
Jesus’ resurrection led initial followers to a new social imagination. Even today, we live in a Commonwealth (believe it or not). Join us for this and other Easter readings of a new life lived for common well-being.
Join us for this week’s readings: Acts 4:5–12; Psalm 23; 1 John 3:16–24; and John 10:11–18.
Seekers | Good Samaritan Room
Meeting Jesus the Christ Again | Part 1
Led by Dr. Ron Stone, we will discuss the book Meeting Jesus the Christ Again, by the Rev. Dr. Robert Chesnut, ELPC pastor emeritus. If you haven’t read the book, join us and learn what it has to offer.
Soul Food | Third Floor Music Room
The Book of Joy by Douglas Abrams
We will discuss The Book of Joy, with the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, led by the Rev. Joe Hajdu, Steve Evrard, Michelle Bard, and Shirley Fair.
