Worship Services
Journey Worship | Sunday, 8:45 am
An interactive, energetic service for those seeking a fresh encounter with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our theme this month is Wisdom. Pastor Patrice will preach from Matthew 18:1–7.
Sanctuary Worship | Sunday, 11 am
Our largest service, with music from the Chancel Choir and an organ prelude prior to the service. Pastor Randy will preach from 3 John 1–15, and his sermon will be titled “Big Themes, Little Books: “So What is Truth?”
If you’re out of town and/or unable to join us for worship, follow us on Facebook to receive a notification when we go live so that you can watch this week’s sermon.
Taizé Prayer Service | Wednesday, 7 pm
Led by the Rev. Mary Lynn Callahan, our hour-long Taizé service includes sung prayers; simple, beautiful music; a time of silence; spoken and silent prayers; and an opportunity for individual prayer and anointing. If you’re unable to participate in person, join our live stream on your computer or mobile device.

A Christian Perspective on the Opioid Crisis
Karen A. Plavan, Ph.D., will lead us in an exploration of the Opioid Crisis from the perspective of our faith. Dr. Plavan is a Certified Family Interventionist and serves as the Director of The Oasis Recover Center and Chair of the Coalition for Leadership Education and Advocacy for Recovery (CLEAR), one of the oldest alcohol/drug coalitions in the U.S.
Journey With Scripture | Second Floor Library
“Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”—Revelation 4b–5
We seem to be awash in deceit or half-truths, and truth-seeking communities seem scarce as ideology rules. Yet our year’s readings end with deep wisdom and assurance by the One who is both trustworthy and just. One who comes in peace. Come join us as we listen for the Lord’s voice.
Join us for this week’s readings: Ruth 3:1–5, 4:13–17; Psalm 127; Hebrews 9:24–28; and Mark 12:38–44.
Seekers | Garth Overlook Room
Enhanced Christians: Technology or Grace?
Today, technology is used not just to heal us when we are sick, but to enhance us. This is most obvious in sports, with athletes at all levels turning to supplements and drugs to enhance their strength and performance. Ron Cole-Turner, professor of Theology and Ethics at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, will lead us as we examine these questions:
- What is enhancement?
- Do we live in an enhancement culture?
- Does Christianity offer its own pathway to human enhancement?
Soul Food | Good Samaritan Room (G12)
We will begin discussing chapter five of Surrender to Love by David Benner, led by the Rev. Joe Hajdu, Linda Harrington, Judy Roberts, and Michele Bossers.
