Environmental Book Study: Flight Behavior

The Environmental Team of the Justice Committee is reading Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. Set in Appalachia, the novel chronicles a community’s reactions to the astonishing arrival of thousands of monarch butterflies, which have forgone their winter migration due to warming temperatures in northern climates. It presents the clash between protecting the environment and carving out a livelihood for individuals.
