Poverty Simulation
November 17, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Do you have what it takes to survive a month in poverty?
Several area organizations are joining forces to launch Circles East Liberty—which will use a nationally recognized, proven model to help families move out of poverty. Circles is not a budgeting class, but a relationally driven program that benefits from the long-term relationships of “Circles Allies.” Circles Allies are community members who want to be in a supportive, intentional, befriending relationship with an individual or family working to get out of poverty.
To kick-off Circles East Liberty we are hosting a Poverty Simulation – a unique and powerful tool that deepens understanding of poverty. Developed by the Missouri Association for Community Action, participants role-play a member of a low-income household and discover the difficulty and stressors of trying to meet a families basic needs when expenses are more than income. Please join us!
