Presbyterian Women Bible Study
February 3 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Most Americans think climate change is harming peoples’ lives in the U.S., and 63% think it will worsen in their lifetimes, according to Pew Research. 2024 was the hottest year on record, yet climate change was not among the top concerns for voters in the general election.
Each of us has a part to play in this collective crisis of climate change.
While the writers of the scriptures knew nothing of the consequences of mining and burning fossil fuels, they knew about responding to crises. Scripture teaches us to listen to prophets like Jeremiah, who warned of threats despite opposition and his reluctance to do so. Scripture also teaches us to avoid complacency and self-concern; and instead to participate with joy in the work God has given us to do.
Join us for our lesson, Climate Change, on Monday, February 3, 7–8:30 pm (Zoom), or Tuesday, February 4, 10 am–12 pm (Hybrid). Tuesday morning Bible Study will meet online and in the Fellowship Room. The in-person study will be followed by a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to share; beverages will be provided.
