Voices of Hope performed in their first concert on Wednesday, May 16. Here is a video of two of their songs: “Lean on Me” with solos by Briona, Michael, Jamal and Teanna; and the world premier of Suzanne Polak’s “Peace, Love, Let Them Grow,” written especially for the students of Hope Academy. Cristobal Gajardo, a CMU percussionist, enhanced the performance with his accompaniment. Thanks to the irrepressible and irreplacable Miss Suzanne! More videos of the concert are coming soon.

Congratulations to everyone who performed in the 2007 “WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!” Showcase on Saturday, May 12. Here is a cast picture (click to enlarge). More photos and videos will be coming soon, so check back often.

Everyone is invited to observe our final creative dramatics and African drumming classes for the year on Thursday, April 26. Creative dramatics class, taught by Holly Thuma, will be from 4:30 to 5:30 pm in room 234. African drumming class, taught by Toeknee Bailey, will be from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in room 234.

African drumming students who are in the play “How the Turtle Got his Shell,” will participate in a filming for their final project. This will take place next week on Thursday, May 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
