Registration is open for Hope Academy’s dance, theater and music classes, private lessons and ensembles for 2018-2019. Most classes will be filled by September, so please register as soon as possible to make sure you have a spot reserved. The deadline for scholarship applications is AUGUST 1, 2018.
The fall term begins on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
New for 2018-2019
- Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) Music Class for Babies and Toddlers ages 0 to 3 years with a parent/guardian. Find out more and RSVP for an introductory class here.
- Pre-Twinkle Suzuki Strings (violin and cello) for 4 to 7 year olds, with a parent/guardian. This includes an expanded parent education component and preparatory class for students. There are only 16 spots in this program and half will be reserved for scholarship students. Find out more and RSVP for an introductory session here.
- A new dance studio, with mirrors and barres!
- West African Dance for 10-15 year olds, in partnership with Balafon West African Dance Ensemble. Find out more and RSVP for free trial class here.
- Two additional Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre dance classes. Two classes will run at the same time (in the Gym and new Dance Studio) for Creative Movement and Ballet 1. This will allow us to take more students in classes that usually fill and have wait lists; divide the Creative Movement students into more developmentally appropriate age groupings; and create two ability/experience levels for Ballet 1. Read course descriptions for PBT dance classes at Hope Academy here.
- Triple Threat Program (acting, singing and dance) for three age levels to make the most of your child’s studies at Hope Academy. This more intensive program is for committed students and families only.
- A separate registration process and forms for Hope Academy’s Music Program and Saturday Dance and Theater Program. Plus, online registration and payments.
PRIVATE LESSONS
If you are interested in registering for private music instruction, please complete the online Inquiry for Private Lessons at Hope Academy. This will help us have a more informed conversation with you, and will expedite the process of matching your child with a teacher and finding a lesson day/time that will fit into your schedule. We will contact you with options for lesson days/time and teachers – after returning students are placed. Private lesson scheduling will begin on AUGUST 15, 2018. The fall term begins on September 22, 2018.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The deadline for scholarship applications is AUGUST 1, 2018.
Scholarships are awarded in September, for the entire year.
