Detailed information about Pittsburgh’s Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) Middle and High School magnet application and audition process is online. Please read this information carefully and note the deadline dates.
We will provide additional coaching and artistic letters of recommendation for our students. Please fill out this form so that we can schedule your coaching sessions and give you email contact information for the teaching artists you would like to request artistic letters of recommendation from.
APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR MAGNET LOTTERY AND CAPA APPLICATIONS

The application process for CAPA includes an Essay, a Guidance Counselor Authorization and an Artistic Letter of Recommendation

AUDITION MATERIALS
THEATER – Middle School
We will order copies of the plays the monologues are from for students to read. It is in your best interest to work on a monologue from a play (not a movie).We will provide additional coaching for our students who select monologues from a play and commit to reading the scripts they are from.
THEATER – High School
- High school audition written worksheet here
VOCAL – Middle School
The vocal selections are not listed on the website, but they are:
- Edelweiss and My Favorite Things from “The Sound of Music,” Maybe from “Annie,” and Where is Love from “Oliver”
We have sheet music and will provide coaching and practice with an accompanist before the audition
