“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”
—Galatians 5:22
In a letter to the Galatians, Apostle Paul described the gifts promised to those who live by the Holy Spirit. Fall is a time of harvest, when we gather and hold close to us the bounty made possible by sunnier days. It also is a time of change, as we prepare ourselves for the coming season with both reflection of what has been and anticipation for new beginnings to come.
With the selection of our senior pastor-elect at ELPC, we are experiencing transitions that are both exciting and wistful. Through the steady work of our congregation, we continue to offer radical hospitality by being a welcoming place for all of God’s children; actively confronting the sins of poverty, racism, and injustice; supporting youth through arts education and after-school enrichment programing; sharing the beauty of music with the community; working with partners in Pittsburgh and abroad to meet the health, clothing, and housing needs of our neighbors; and providing diverse options for worship and spiritual exploration.
How have the fruits of walking in the Spirit been manifested in your life?
You can live God’s promise by making a gift to support the mission and ministries of ELPC. On Stewardship Sunday, November 17, we invite you to pledge your gifts to ELPC in any amount that God calls you to give. If you already pledge, we ask you to prayerfully consider increasing your pledge. Our goal is to have at least 200 members make a faithful financial commitment in anticipation of a dynamic year ahead.
Pledge cards are available at the church, online, or by contacting Rachelle Calfee at 412.441.3800 x234. ELPC also offers a monthly automatic debit plan that many members have found convenient.
