Love and justice are at the heart of our Presbyterian tradition. God’s immense love for us is the reason for our very existence. Every year, Presbyterians join with millions of other Christians through the One Great Hour of Sharing offering to share God’s love with people experiencing need.
Our gifts support ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement, and community development that help people find safe refuge, start new lives and work together to strengthen their families and communities. The Presbyterian Hunger Program receives 36% of undesignated gifts, while Self-Development of People and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance each receive 32%. Your financial support helps those who are fighting for their basic needs within structures that perpetuate poverty, oppression, and injustice. Participation in OGHS is a revolutionary act of sharing love.
As Christians, we are called by Jesus to show and share God’s love through word, deed, and a spirit of giving. In such a time as this, the ELPC Mission Board prayerfully asks that you consider giving a special offering, over and above your pledged tithes and offerings, to the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. This special offering will be received on Palm Sunday, April 13.
