Pastor Randy & Beth are doing well on their sabbatical in Barcelona, enjoying getting familiar with this incredible European city.
The sabbatical allows for unstructured days spent exploring a new culture, seeing the many commonalities between the U.S. and Spain (such as ubiquitous Smartphones and AirPods), and pondering questions about the nature of faith in this largely secular/Catholic nation.
They have worshiped in the famous La Sagrada Familia cathedral and at an Anglican, diverse, English-speaking local church.
And for those who are interested, here is Pastor Randy’s reading list: Believers by Melvin Konner, MD; The Lost Art of Scripture by Karen Armstrong; Questions in the Psychology of Religion by ELPC member Kevin Seybold; and for fun, Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime and Plato’s complete works.
