Here’s what’s happening in worship December 8-14, 2014.
Worship Services
Taizé – Wednesday 7:00 p.m.
An hour-long service including sung prayers; simple, beautiful music; a time of silence; spoken and silent prayers; and an opportunity for individual prayer and anointing. This week’s after-Taizé class is a time of extended prayer and music.
Journey Worship – Sunday 8:45 a.m.
An interactive, energetic service for those seeking a fresh encounter with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This week is the third week of Advent. The Rev. Patrice Fowler-Searcy will preach.
Sanctuary Worship – Sunday 11:00 a.m.
Our largest service, with music from the Chancel Choir and an organ prelude prior to the service. This week is the third week of Advent. The Rev. Dr. Randy Bush will preach.
Christian Education Classes
ELPC offers Christian Education classes for persons of all ages, from infancy through adulthood, on Sundays from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Go here for a list of our children and youth classes.
There will be no Church School classes Sunday, December 14, so we can enjoy your annual Christmas Pageant together.
ELPC’s annual Christmas Pageant will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Social Hall. This year’s pageant is entitled, “The Beautiful Birth,” and was written by ELPC member Ashley Birt. The children and youth of ELPC will guide us in a retelling of Jesus’ birth from an artistic lens–helping us notice artistic elements in the biblical texts we all know and love.
Please join us as we sing the carols of the season, and hear and see the good news proclaimed that “unto us a baby was born in Bethlehem, a Savior who is Christ the Lord!”
(Note, we will also not have classes December 28 or January 4.)
