Here’s what’s happening in worship July 7-13, 2014.
Please note: We have moved to our summer schedule and combine our usual two Sunday services into a 10:00 a.m. Worship service held in our Courtyard, weather permitting. Adjust your alarm clocks and join us for worship and fellowship all month long!
Worship Services
Taizé – Wednesday 7:00 p.m.
An hour-long service including sung prayers; simple, beautiful music; a time of silence; spoken and silent prayers; and an opportunity for individual prayer and anointing. This week’s after-Taizé class will be a time of extended prayer and music.
Courtyard Worship – Sunday 10:00 a.m.
In the summer, the 8:00 and 11:00 services come together at 10:00 a.m. We meet in the Courtyard, weather-permitting. This week the Rev. Dr. Randy Bush will preach.
The book of Genesis contains some fascinating family stories. This month, the worship sermons will highlight the Old Testament patriarch Isaac. Born to the aged Sarah and Abraham (Genesis 21), he came close to being sacrificed on Mount Moriah (Genesis 22). Later, he marries Rebekah and has two sons of his own, Jacob and Esau (Genesis 24-25), whose own stories remind us of how God’s faithfulness overcomes our flawed human character (Genesis 27). Join us for these reflections on Abraham’s son, Isaac.
Christian Education Classes
Christian Education Classes are on summer break! All classes will begin on Rally Day, September 7, when we resume our traditional worship and education schedule.
