Mission Activities
“Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundation of many generations; you shall be called the repairers of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in” (Isaiah 58:12).
The Mission Board Committees of ELPC are dedicated to be repairers of the breach and to minister to and in local, national and international communities. This commitment is faithfully carried out through ministry opportunities connecting ELPC members with the community through active, hands on participation, cultural exchanges, financial support, and in-kind resources. The Mission Ministries are engaged in advocating, feeding, housing, mentoring, and serving. We are organized into three committees: Peace, Justice, and Neighbors.
Every year, the Deacons organize the Christmas Giving Tree to benefit children and families from East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM), our ELPC Mission, Christian Education, and Hope Academy ministries. The congregation has been wonderful in its support of this ministry through gift and gift card buying and / or monetary donations. Typically, 100 children are provided gifts as a result of ELPC’s generosity.
In late November and early December, the Giving Tree is typically set up near the Information Desk. Stop by and select a gift tag. Deacons will be on hand to help you record your name and phone number with the information from your tag. Wrapped gifts, with tags securely attached, should be brought to the church office. If you would like to participate by donating money, please make the check out to “ELPC Giving Tree” and deliver it to the church office.
The Deacon Board thanks the congregation for its enthusiastic support of this ministry!
